1. Therapeutic indications:

• For sedation of adult ICU patients requiring a sedation level not deeper than arousal in response to verbal stimulation.
• For sedation of non-intubated adult patients prior to and/or during diagnosis or surgical procedures, i.e., procedural/awake sedation.

2. Dosage:

• ICU Initial dose:

Infusion rate of 0.7 mcg/kg/h

• ICU Maintenance dose:

Infusion rate of 0.2 – 1.4 mcg/kg/h

• ICU Maximum dose:

Not more than 1.4 mcg/kg/h

• Procedural sedation Initial dose:

0.5– 1.0 mcg/kg over 10 minutes.

• Procedural sedation Maintenance dose:

Initiated at 0.6 – 0.7 mcg/kg/h, titrated to 0.2 – 1.0 mcg/kg/h
